Stanley Tookie Williams met Raymond Lee Washington in 1969, and the two decided to unite their local gang members from the west and east sides of South Central Los Angeles in order to battle neighboring street gangs. Most of the members were 17 years old.Williams discounted the sometimes cited founding date of 1969 in his memoir, Blue Rage, Black Redemption.Gang activity in South Central Los Angeles has its roots in a variety of factors dating back to the 1950s and '60s, including post-World War II economic decline leading to joblessness and poverty, racial segregation leading to the formation of black "street clubs" by young African American men who were excluded from organizations such as the Boy Scouts, and the waning of black nationalist organizations such as the Black Panther Party and the Black Power Movement.
The original name for the alliance was "Cribs," a name narrowed down from a list of many options, and chosen unanimously from three final choices, which included the Black Overlords, and the Assassins. Cribs was chosen to reflect the young age of the majority of the gang members. The name "Cribs" generated into the name "Crips" when gang members began carrying around canes to display their "pimp" status. People in the neighborhood then began calling them cripples, or "Crips" for short.A Los Angeles Sentinel article in February 1972 referred to some members as "Crips" (for cripples).The name had no political, organizational, cryptic, or acronymic meaning, though some have suggested it stands for Common Revolution In Progress. Williams, in his memoir, further refuted claims that the group was a spin-off of the Black Panther Party or formed for a community agenda, the name "depicted a fighting alliance against street gangs—nothing more, nothing less."Washington, who attended Fremont High School, was the leader of the East Side Crips, and Williams, who attended Washington High School, led the West Side Crips.

Williams recalled that a blue bandanna was first worn by Crips founding member Buddha, as a part of his color-coordinated clothing of blue Levi's, a blue shirt, and dark blue suspenders. A blue bandanna was worn in tribute to Buddha after he was shot and killed on February 23, 1973, which eventually became the color of blue associated with Crips.
The Crips became popular throughout southern Los Angeles as more youth gangs joined; at one point they outnumbered non-Crip gangs by 3 to 1, sparking disputes with non-Crip gangs, including the L.A. Brims, Athens Park Boys, the Bishops, The Drill Company, and the Denver Lanes. By 1971 the gang's notoriety had spread across Los Angeles.
Initially Crips leaders did not occupy leadership positions, but were recognized as leaders because of their personal charisma and influence. These leaders gave priority to expanding the gang's membership to increase its power. By 1978, there were 45 Crips gangs, called sets, operating in Los Angeles. The gang became increasingly violent as they attempted to expand their turf.
By the early 1980s the gang was heavily involved with drug trade.Some of these Crips sets began to produce and distribute PCP (phencyclidine) within the city. They also began to distribute marijuana and amphetamine in Los Angeles. In the early 1980s Crips sets began distributing crack cocaine in Los Angeles. The huge profits resulting from crack cocaine distribution induced many Crips members to establish new markets in other cities and states. In addition, many young men in other states adopted the Crips name and lifestyle. As a result of these two factors, Crips membership increased throughout the 1980s, making it one of the largest street gang associations in the country.In 1999, there were at least 600 Crips sets with more than 30,000 members transporting drugs in the United States.
- Chapter One : The Beginning -
It all started out with Lorenzo, and Raheem ; they both grew up in the ghetto area of los santos known as Grove Street, Ganton.Well, Raheem and Lorenzo were very close friends and knew each other since they were born.They weren't wealthy as kids, and Lorenzo's father had a gang running known as 'Lynwood Blocc Crips'.Lorenzo was a very curious father, and he hadn't known about the gang his father had been running untl he was about twelve years old.Well, one day as Lorenzo woke up, he went outside of his house as he walked torwards Raheem's house.Lorenzo was wearing a dark blue & black plaid shirt, with light blue jeans, black and white chucks, and a black beanie.At the time, he didn't realize his father was running the set, and he didn't know the colors he was wearing meant anything.So as he walked torwards Raheem's house, he sent an upward nod torwards a small group of kids at the other side of the street.As he approached Raheem's house, he knocked on the door twice, therafter pressing the the doorbell.Raheem opens the door as he begins a small conversation with Lorenzo.
Raheem:Waddup homie, what you been up too?
Lorenzo:Not much man, alot of homework at school n' stuff...
Afterwards they both begin walking torwards the grove street circle, as they approach lorenzo notices his dad with a group of other men wearing blue clothing, by a few vehicles.He approaches them as he looks up at his dad, smiling.They have varius conversations and about an hour later, a vehicle spectates the circlee, it's dark red with black tinted windows.It continues to spectate as suddenly it comes back, with the lights off and windows down , and three men lean out with ak 47's and mac 10's, firing shots off at the indivisuals.Lorenzo quickly grabs Raheem's shoulder as he pushes himself and Raheem down so a vehicle is protecting them.They breath heavily in fear as Lorenzo looks torwards his dad noticing he's shot in the stomach area, as the red car speeds off.Lorenzo crawls to his dad as he screams, looking at his body.Soon paramedics arrive at the scene and help his dad and varius men that were shot in the scene.

- Chapter Two : Blue Flag Bangin' -
Well, as Lorenzo and Raheem grow up, they've been hanging with the 'Lynwood Blocc Crips' alot more often, and around when Lorenzo was fifteen, that's when he found his first strap.Well, he was walking around the ganton projects as he sniffed twice, smelling a foul stench.He was curious, so he walked down into the projects as he noticed behind a bush, there was a dead body.The body was hispanic with black zoot pants, black loafers, a turqoise button up shirt tucked in the pants with suspenders, and a teal bandana around his forhead.He was startled, but he noticed a odd shaped object sticking out his waistline.He walked a few steps forward as he noticed it was a handgun sticking out his waist, known as the 'Glock 17'.He glanced around both sides of the area briefly as he rushed torwards the body, grabbing the glock 17 quickly lofting his shirt as he slid it into his waistline halfway, therafter dropping his shirt over the weapon concealing it.He ran down ganton after this torwards his house, as he rushed in, slamming the door behind him shut as he breathed heavily.He went inside his bed room as he grabbed his weapon, putting it under his bedroom.About an hour later he went to sleep.The next day, he nearly forgot about his weapon he found, as he went in his kitchen and grabbed the home-phone, dialing Raheem's number.
[Phone]Lorenzo:Yo' Rah, you ain't gonna believe what I found.
[Phone]Raheem:What-..nigga it's early...why the fuck you calling?
[Phone]Lorenzo:I..I found a fuckin' glock..
[Phone]Raheem:Haha sure nigga, fuck off man, I'm tired.
*The phone line disconnects*
Lorenzo sighs as he grabs the glock from under his bed in his room, therafter quickly dressing up.He rushes out his houses front door as he jogs torwards Raheem's house, completley ignoring his surroundings.As he finally approaches Raheem's houses front door, he bangs on the front door several times.Nobody responds, so he does the same proccesure again, as Raheem finally opens the door.
Raheem:What the fuck Ren...What do you want?
Lorenzo:Look-..
*Lorenzo lifts his shirt as he reveals the glock's handle to Raheem, smirking as he drops the shirt*
Raheem:Oh shit, you weren't kidding...
They both walk torwards the grove street circle where the ganton blocc crips usually hang as Lorenzo approaches his dad - he's been hanging with the set for quite a few years now.
Lorenzo:Dad, I wanna be down for the set.
Dad:Uh-..you know this shit is serious, right?
Lorenzo:'Course I do...
Lorenzo and his dad speak afterwards as they arrange a robbery for Lorenzo and some of the current ragged Lynwood Blocc members.Lorenzo also talked his dad into letting Raheem get jumped in, aslong as he helped in the robbery.So, later that night they all go to the 24/7 in the idlewood area around 12:00 AM, armed with colt 45's and glock's.They all mask up with bandana's and shades, running in the store with a running tahoma outside.Raheem, Lorenzo, and his dad run in the store armed as they aim their weapons at the clerk and any customers.Lorenzo quickly grabs all the cash from the cash register, as he fires off a shot at the clerk's head *bam bam*, therafter yelling "DIP" and run out the door.The two follow as they hop in the vehicle, driving off.As they arrive at Ganton, Lorenzo's dad smiles at Lorenzo and Raheem.
Dad:Ya'll earned yo' colors today, you did real good in there.
Lorenzo's dad hands them each a blue bandana from his vehicles compartment, nodding twice at them.They both take their bandana's and keep them with pride.

- Chapter Three : New Era -
Well, as time passed by, Lorenzo and Raheem grew older, and soon Lorenzo ended up buying himself his own house in the ganton circle.And Raheem bought a nearby house, about twenty feet away..Well, the gang never seemed to died out, the members just seemed to rise in numbers over the years.But as more drive-by's occured in the years, soon Lorenzo's dad ended up dieing by a tec 9 bullet to the brain.The day it happened, Lorenzo was mad yet sad at the same time.He wanted vegance on the people who did it.All he knew was he saw the vehicle and the person who had the weapon.The vehicle was a black savanna with red leather interior, and the shooter was wearing red clothing.As time passed by, Lorenzo decided to take charge over the gang, he didn't want it to die out, so he had no other choice.Him, and Raheem have been leading the gang ever since, Lorenzo himself isn't really known as the leader ICly, but he's known as a top O.G, and never to be dis-respected.If someone from another set disrespected him, it usually dosen't end well.
1.Do not carry bags around unless you're a kid RPing with us and rping you go to school, or using it for drugs ICly.
2.We do not accept you 'putting guns in bags' nor on your back.You may put it on your back if told, but CAN NOT walk around with it on your back.This will result in a juicy faction warn.
3.Do not provoke anyone who comes in our hood, doing so will result in IC consequences.
4.Do not try to start a shoot-out unless a gang/person comes in our hood and continuesly insults us after being told to stop, or trying to sell stuff in the hood.
5.You may only put sub machine guns, 9mm's,deagles,and knife's in your waist line.No other weapons are permitted to be carried on you besides spray-can's, rped in your back pocket.
6.If you beat up a member of our faction for no reason, it will result in an auto fpk.
7.If you're an outsider and talk shit/physiclly hurt a official member, you'll get an auto FPK.
8.Do not tag any area's(RPly)without permission from a O.G or Shot Calla, this will result in an IC consequence.
9.We do not accept some typical 21 year old super buff(muscular)person into the faction, we like people who RP between the age of 9-17 to RP joining us, then ICly grow up.
10.Do not flame anyone out of characterly on this thread or thru /pm torwards a member, you may lose your chance of getting jumped in.
11.Keep /b to a minimium when rping with others, unless it's ABSOLUTLEY neccesary.If you need to just talk to ONE person, use /pm.
12.If you're a trigger happy bullshitter who dosen't like to roleplay, don't even bother trying to roleplay with us.
